The H&N Heavy Slug expands the weight range in calibre .22 and is designed for long-range hunting and target shooting with high-power airguns. The most important feature is a new hollow point design with a large meplat combined with soft lead. It provides maximum expansion and energy transfer after impact - for a quick and humane kill. The Heavy Slug was developed and tested in close collaboration with Air Hunter Gerhard, a renowned expert in airgun hunting and competitive shooting.
Minimum muzzle energy should be 25 Joules but we recommend a muzzle energy of 40 – 60 Joules for good results. Barrels with a shorter twist rate and specifically made for Slugs produce significantly better results. All pellets get visually inspected and hand-packed.
